Ibrahim Athif Shakoor holds an MBA from Monash University, Australia, and has served in top management and board positions at some of the largest and most diversified corporate entities in the Maldives.

He has also served as a Board Director of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), was the first Head of the Financial Intelligence Unit at the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), and worked as a local consultant for the Entrepreneurial Component of the World Bank’s MEERY Project.

Today, he continues to offer consultancy services to both local and foreign corporate entities and serves as the Strategic Consultant to MIFCO.

For over 20 years, Athif has published extensively in both Dhivehi, the local language, and English, focusing on economic matters. During this period, he has worked through various formats to increase public awareness of economic issues within the community.
