
Mr Abdulla Hassan

Mr. Abdulla Hassan is a senior financial and strategy professional with over 15 years of experience in public finance, banking, insurance, and corporate governance. He is currently engaged as a Strategy Consultant to Bank of Maldives Plc, advising on strategic financial planning, macroeconomic analysis, risk management, and capital market strategies. His work includes scenario planning, liquidity optimization, and foresight on economic and regulatory developments. Previously, Mr. Abdulla served as Project Director of the Public Financial Management Project at the Ministry of Finance, where he led reforms to modernize fiscal processes, improve efficiency, and strengthen governance. He also served as Debt Specialist and Local Debt Expert at the Ministry of Finance, where he developed debt management frameworks, borrowing policies, and risk strategies for the Government of Maldives. His governance experience includes serving as a Board Director of Bank of Maldives and as Chairman of Lafarge Maldives Pvt Ltd (a subsidiary of STO Plc). Mr. Abdulla holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science from Bangalore University, India, and has undertaken advanced executive training at institutions including INSEAD, Henley Business School, and the Institute of Directors (UK).
