Mr. Hussain Alim Shakoor has served as the Chief Retail Banking Officer at Maldives Islamic Bank since February 2019, playing a key role in driving the Bank’s growth and innovation. With a clear strategic vision, he oversees both physical and digital distribution strategies, significantly contributing to the Bank’s expansion and strengthening its market presence. His leadership also ensures the Bank’s funding book’s sustainable growth. 

A graduate of the National University of Singapore, Mr. Shakoor holds dual Master’s Degrees in Business Administration and Public Administration. His strong academic foundation complements his extensive experience, giving him a unique blend of analytical and managerial skills. 

Prior to joining the Bank, he held international roles in Malaysia and Sri Lanka, primarily in the education sector. These experiences enhanced his cross-cultural communication abilities and global outlook.
