CA Maldives signs agreement with Ministry of Economic Development

Ministry of Economic Development has launched Upskilling and Training program to promote and develop Accountants in the Maldives. Accounting courses in four different accounting programs have been offered under this project which will be fully funded under the COVID – 19 Emergency Income Support Fund by The World Bank. The fees covered under the project would be registrations fees, book allowance, tuition fee, examination fee and annual subscription fee for relevant courses. In addition to these allowances, a monthly stipend of MVR 5,000 will be provided to the participants of the program.

The Ministry of Economic Development and CA Maldives have entered into an agreement to promote the Accounting Courses offered under the above-mentioned project in order to make as many of the potential applicants aware of this great opportunity to begin and build their accounting profession. To further achieve this, CA Maldives will also be conducting career guidance sessions at various atolls to assist and guide interested applicants to select the right courses to begin their career.
Under this program, application is open for ACCA knowledge & skill level, CIMA certificate & operational level, AAT level 2 & 3 and CAT level 1,2 & 3. Ministry of Economic Development has also signed agreements with the Maldives National University, Villa College, and Clique College to deliver these courses to students in an effective manner.

We believe this program will be an excellent opportunity to create and develop a significant number of accountants including professional accountants in the Maldives. Therefore, strengthening the accounting profession in the Maldives.
