On 15th November 2022, Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives was admitted as a member of the Asian Oceanian Setters Group (AOSSG) at the Annual AOSSG Meeting held at Nepal.
The AOSSG is a group of Accounting Standard Setters in the Asian-Oceanian region formed in 2009 to discuss issues and share experiences on the adoption of IFRS and to contribute to the development of a high-quality global accounting standards.
There are 27 member organizations of AOSSG including member organizations from Australia, China, India, Japan, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand.
CA Maldives also signed an MoU with AOSSG to collaborate together to ensure upholding and enhance the quality of financial reporting in Maldives. AOSSG. Vice-president of CA Maldives, Mr. Hassan Mohamed signed the MoU on behalf of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives.
Vice president of the Institute, Mr. Hassan Mohamed briefed the member bodies of AOSSG regarding financial sector of Maldives and gave a quick glimpse on the history of adoption of accounting and auditing standards in Maldives.
