CA Maldives delegates attended the 21st chapter of World Congress of Accountants (WCOA) 2022, which was held in Mumbai from 18 to 21 November 2022 with the theme “Building Trust Enabling Sustainability.”
The four-day event witnessed participation from over 115 countries, 150+ speakers, over 6000 physical participants, 4000 online participants. During the congress, important dialogues and discussions on accounting, finance and sustainable economies for the future were held.
President of CA Maldives, along with council members and delegation of the institute met with the president of IFAC Ms. Asmâa Resmouki, CEO of IFAC, Mr. Kevin Dancey, and senior officials of IFAC in Mumbai during WCOA to discuss and update on the efforts by CA Maldives to obtain IFAC Membership.
Delegates from CA Maldives met with ACCA Director, Partnerships & Recognition, Mr. Stephen Shields and ACCA Director, Mr. Mohammed Sajid Khan to discuss the current challenges students are facing and how both parties can work together to develop the accountancy profession in the Maldives.
