CA Maldives Steps onto the World Stage with IFAC Membership
In a landmark achievement for the Maldives, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) has become a member of the prestigious International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).
The membership was awarded in In the IFAC Council Meeting held in Paris, France on 6th November 2024. President of the Institute, Mr. Mohamed Haleem Abdulla, along with past president and Auditor General, Mr. Hussain Niyazy accepted the membership from President of IFAC Ms. Asmâa Resmouki accompanied by Mr. Jean Bouquot, IFAC Deputy President, and CEO of IFAC Mr. Lee White.
This monumental step, just four years after CA Maldives was established, marks a new era for the accounting profession in the country. With this membership, CA Maldives joins a global network of over 180 professional accountancy organizations from 135 countries, further strengthening the presence of the Maldives in the international accounting community.
The President of CA Maldives expressed immense pride and excitement, stating, “becoming a member of IFAC is a historic milestone for CA Maldives and the entire accounting profession in our country. This remarkable achievement showcases our unwavering dedication to excellence and our commitment to building a robust financial ecosystem.
