The Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) hosted its Anniversary Open Day on 10 September 2026 at the Maldives National University (MNU) Business School, bringing together students from leading higher education institutions to explore opportunities in the accounting and finance profession.

Held as part of CA Maldives’ 6th Anniversary celebrations, the Open Day provided students with an opportunity to learn more about the Chartered Accountancy profession, CA Maldives, career pathways, and opportunities available within the accounting and finance sectors.

The event brought together students from MNU, Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), Villa College, Zikuraa International College and MAPS College, creating a platform for students from different institutions to connect, exchange perspectives and engage with professionals in the field.

The programme featured interactive sessions and discussions focused on the accounting profession, professional development and career journeys. Students also had the opportunity to hear directly from Chartered Accountants about their experiences and pathways into the profession.

A professional panel discussion was also held, featuring Chartered Accountants who shared insights from their careers, challenges they encountered, lessons learned and perspectives on building a successful career in the accounting profession. The discussion provided students with an opportunity to gain practical insights and ask questions about the profession.

In addition, a student panel discussion brought together students from participating institutions to share their experiences, perspectives and aspirations. The discussion highlighted the interests, challenges and expectations of students pursuing Accounting and Finance, while providing valuable insights into how professional bodies and educational institutions can better support the next generation of accounting professionals.

The event also featured the CA Accounting Challenge, an interactive Kahoot quiz that tested students’ knowledge of accounting and finance while adding an engaging and competitive element to the programme. Prizes and a lucky draw were also held for participating students.

The Open Day concluded with networking opportunities, allowing students to interact with Chartered Accountants, CA Maldives representatives and fellow students in an informal setting.

Through initiatives such as the Anniversary Open Day, CA Maldives continues to strengthen its engagement with students and higher education institutions, while promoting awareness of the accounting profession and encouraging young people to explore careers in the field.
