Mr. Ali Wasif is a seasoned banking executive and finance leader with extensive expertise in financial strategy, corporate governance, and Islamic banking. He has played a pivotal role in strengthening the financial performance, strategic direction, and sustainable growth of Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB).

He began his banking career at the Maldives Monetary Authority before joining MIB in January 2011 as a Planning and Development Officer. In September 2011, he was appointed Head of Finance and Accounts, assuming leadership of the Bank’s finance function. Building on this experience, he was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in November 2016 and subsequently appointed to the Bank’s Board as an Executive Director in 2019. He continues to serve in both capacities.

Mr. Wasif is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Multimedia University, Malaysia, and a Master’s degree in Islamic Finance Practice from INCEIF, Malaysia.
