Overview
We regulate the accountancy profession in the Maldives and we aim to work for the advancement of the accountancy profession in the Maldives in accordance with international norms and standards.
The Chartered Accountants Act was ratified by his Excellency, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on September 8, 2020. This followed the establishment of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) on 14th September 2020.
Before the ratification of the Act, functions and authorities relative to the issuance of audit licencing and upholding the concerned regulations were fulfilled under the Audit Act 4/2007. With the issue of the Chartered Accountants Act, 13/2020 the mentioned functions and authorities are now the responsibility of the Institute.
