Mr. Ahmed Salih works as the Director of Technical Services and Research Department at the Auditor General’s Office of the Maldives. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) and a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA). Mr. Salih’s work at the AGO is multi-faceted and involves providing technical advice on public audit, methodology and audit quality. Mr. Salih is the AGO’s team leader for the global pilot on the system of audit quality management (launched by the INTOSAI Development Initiative). He has led the AGO’s financial, performance and compliance audit teams.

Ms. Shirumeena Hussain joined Auditor General Office in 1997 as Audit Accountant (Trainee). She has worked in different streams of audits for the past 25 years. And currently holds the position of Assistant Auditor General of Financial and Compliance Audit Division. Ms. Shirumeena is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She holds Master of Professional Accounting, from La Trobe University of Australia and Bachelor of Science in Applied Accounting from ACCA/Oxford Brookes University Degree Partnership.

Mr. Hassan Akram Mohamed is the Chief Internal Auditor at Regional Airports Company Limited, with over a decade of experience in accounting, auditing, assurance, and consultancy. Mr. Akram has applied his expertise to help organizations improve their internal processes, financial reporting, and operational efficiency. Specializing in internal audit, Mr. Akram has worked with large companies, assisting them in enhancing the effectiveness of their risk management, controls, and governance processes. Mr. Akram is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Global, a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives).

Ms. Rauhath Hussain is an auditing professional with over a decade of experience in public sector oversight. Ms. Rauhath has been working in the Auditor General’s Office (AGO) and have progressed through various key positions. Currently serving as the Director of Performance Audit, Ms. Rauhath is leading the Performance audit team in improving audit methodologies and ensuring value for money within government entities, programs and projects. Ms. Rauhath began her auditing career in 2012 as a Senior Auditor in the Financial Audit Department of AGO. Before ascending to the current role, she served as the Manager of Performance Audit. Prior to joining the AGO, Ms. Rauhath worked at Maldives Islamic Bank, where she played a crucial role in developing innovative Islamic financing products. Ms. Rauhath is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and a Fellow member at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives. She has also completed the SAI Young Leaders Initiative by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI), a prestigious program aimed at empowering emerging leaders in supreme audit institutions.

Ms. Samahath Abdulla began her career at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) as an Assistant Officer in 2011. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Large Taxpayer Audit division at MIRA. With over 9 years of experience in taxation and auditing, Ms. Samahath is also an active member of MIRA’s Audit Committee and Technical Committee. In addition to her role at MIRA, Ms. Samahath has contributed to the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives as a member of the Valuation Committee for two years, where she was involved in researching, developing, and advising on valuation guidelines for financial reporting in the Maldives. Ms. Samahath holds a BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University. She is a member of the Association of Chartered Accountants (ACCA) and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (FCA).

Ms. Aishath Shahuru is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives). She is currently the Head of the Financial and Management Reporting Section at the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA), bringing over 9 years of expertise in leading financial reporting and analysis at the central bank. Ms. Shahuru plays a key role in preparing MMA’s IFRS-compliant financial statements, overseeing external audits, and delivering strategic financial insights. She has also led the Financial Controls Division of MMA, demonstrating her expertise in managing complex financial operations and regulatory compliance.

Ms. Shana Riyaz is a chartered accountant with over 9 years of work experience in taxation, auditing and accountancy. She is currently an Audit Manager for Large Taxpayer Audits at Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA). Her experience covers major industries ranging from hospitality, wholesale and retail, construction, telecommunication and banking. Prior to MIRA, she briefly worked for Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives Pvt Ltd and for ADK Hospitals Pvt Ltd. She is a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives).
