CA Maldives delegates proudly represented the Institute at the World Forum of Accountants (WOFA) 2025, held in New Delhi, India, from 31st January to 2nd February 2025. The event brought together over 6000 professionals and finance experts from across the globe to share insights and discuss the future of the accounting and finance industries.

Key highlights of the event included speakers and panel discussions by prominent leaders in the accounting field.

Auditor General and Past President Mr. Hussain Niyazy shared his valuable insights in the panel discussion on “Audit Quality & Ethics in the Age of Automation.” Meanwhile, the President of CA Maldives,

Mr. Mohamed Haleem Abdulla addressed the theme of “Building Global Accountants – Fostering Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange”, highlighting the importance of shared expertise and international cooperation in the accounting profession.

In conjunction with the Forum, South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) held their Strategy Meeting on 31st January 2025. Mr. Mohamed Haleem Abdulla, along with the Council Member and Chairperson of the Technical and Standards Committee, Mr. Ibrahim Fazeel, attended this meeting. The meeting focused on discussing new strategies to further develop SAFA and finalize the workplan for this year.

On 1st February 2025, Mr. Mr. Mohamed Haleem Abdulla and the CA Maldives delegation met with the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Mr. Ranjeet Kumar Agarwal, and Vice President of ICAI Mr. Charanjot Singh Nanda. The discussion centered on future collaborations and joint initiatives between the two institutes, leading to the signing of an MOU to strengthen their partnership
