17th AOSSG Annual Meeting Concludes in Maldives with Leadership Transition and Renewed Commitment to Regional Collaboration

The 17th Annual Meeting of the Asian-Oceania Standard Setters Group (AOSSG), hosted by the Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives), officially concluded today at Villa Nautica, marking a significant milestone in regional cooperation and global standard‑setting dialogue.
Over the past two days, more than 40 leading experts from accounting standard‑setting bodies across the world convened to discuss emerging issues in financial reporting, exchange technical insights, and explore opportunities to strengthen collaboration in 2026. Delegates emphasized the importance of continuous learning, capacity building, and unified efforts to advance high‑quality global financial reporting.
A key highlight of this year’s meeting was the formal completion of the previous Chair’s term and the ceremonial handover to the newly appointed Chair, Dr. Keith Kendall of Australia. Delegates welcomed Dr. Kendall’s leadership and expressed confidence in his vision for deepening cooperation across the Asian‑Oceania region.
CA Maldives, serving as host for the first time, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting international dialogue and contributing to the development of globally consistent, transparent, and robust financial reporting standards.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to continued collaboration, enhanced technical engagement, and collective progress toward strengthening the global standard‑setting landscape.
