Mr. Mohamed Hussain Maniku
Mr. Mohamed Hussain Maniku is the Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA), appointed in January 2021. With over four decades of experience in public sector leadership, he brings extensive expertise in financial regulation, institutional development, and strategic governance. Under his leadership, CMDA has focused on expanding access to capital markets, enabling private businesses to raise nearly half a billion Rufiyaa in debt offerings, and advocating for greater participation of State-Owned Enterprises in the stock market to benefit both the economy and the public.
Before joining CMDA, Mr. Maniku served as the founding CEO of the Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO) from 2009 to 2019, where he oversaw the establishment and growth of the national pension system. His career also includes serving as Managing Director of the State Trading Organization (STO), where he led diversification initiatives, and as the Maldivian Ambassador to the United States. He began his career at the Ministry of Finance, rising through various senior positions.
Mr. Maniku holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the American University of Beirut.
