Sampath Jayawardena is a seasoned professional with over 19 years of experience in Assurance, Strategy and Transactions, and Climate Change and Sustainability Services at Ernst & Young. He is a member of several leading professional bodies, including ACA (Sri Lanka), ACCA (UK), ACMA (Sri Lanka), ACMA (UK), CGMA, and FMAAT. 

He holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and is currently pursuing an MSc in Climate Change and Environmental Management at the University of Colombo. 

At EY, Sampath actively contributes to shaping sustainability practices globally and regionally. He is a member of the EY Global Subject Matter Group on IFRS S1 and S2, and the EY Asia-Pacific Subject Matter Group on ISSB Standards, both of which provide platforms for knowledge sharing and addressing application challenges. 

In Sri Lanka, he serves on the Sustainability Disclosure Standards Committee of CA Sri Lanka and has contributed to the localization of IFRS S1 and S2. He is also a member of the Subcommittee under the Statutory Auditing Standards Committee for implementing ISSA 5000, underscoring his leadership in advancing sustainability reporting and standards.
