Introduction
IFRS FOR GROWTH: SUSTAINABILITY AND INNOVATION
CA Maldives is proud to present the IFRS Forum 2026, continuing its commitment to delivering high-quality technical forums that strengthen the accounting and auditing profession in the Maldives. As the financial reporting landscape continues to evolve, this year’s forum provides a timely platform for professionals to prepare for significant developments shaping the future of corporate reporting.
The 2026 forum brings together accounting and finance professionals, auditors, regulators, academics, and aspiring practitioners to explore the practical implementation of new and revised International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Through expert-led presentations, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing, participants will gain valuable insights into upcoming regulatory changes, implementation challenges, and emerging innovations transforming financial reporting.
This year’s programme focuses on preparing organisations for the transition to IFRS 18 and the revised IFRS for SMEs Standard, both becoming effective from 1 January 2027. The forum will also examine the growing importance of sustainability reporting through IFRS S1 and S2, with a particular focus on the Maldivian context, while exploring how automation and digital technologies are enhancing the quality, efficiency, and reliability of financial reporting. Together, these discussions reinforce our shared commitment to strengthening financial reporting practices, embracing innovation, and supporting the continued development of the accounting profession in the Maldives.
