Mr Ibrahim Fazeel

Assistant Auditor General, AGO

Ibrahim Fazeel is the Assistant Auditor General of the Maldives, overseeing the financial and compliance audit division at the Auditor General’s Office. With more than two decades of experience in accounting, auditing, governance, and risk management, he has led audits of state-owned enterprises, public institutions, and donor-funded projects. He is a fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), a Chartered Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (UK & Ireland), and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). He also holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Audit Management and Consultancy from Birmingham City University in the UK and a Bachelor of Commerce from Bengaluru University in India. 

He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (CA Maldives) where he serves as a Council Member and chairs the Technical and Standards Committee. He is passionate about strengthening internal audit and risk management and is actively engaged in building professional capacity through training, mentoring, and standard setting.
