Mr. Ali Muaaz is a fellow member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He currently serves as a partner at KPMG Maldives, where he brings over eight years of experience in audit and tax across various industries in the Maldives. Prior to joining KPMG Maldives, Mr. Muaaz worked at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) for more than seven years. During his tenure at MIRA, he advanced from Senior Officer to Deputy Director General, playing a pivotal role in the organization’s audit department. He was actively involved in MIRA’s Audit Committee, Technical Committee, and Technical assistance to the Legal Committee. Additionally, Mr. Muaaz was a member of the Technical Standards Committee at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Maldives from 2021 to 2023.

Mr. Hamdulla Hussain is a partner and tax advisor at CTL Strategies LLP, a Chambers and Partners-ranked law firm in the Maldives. With nearly twenty years of expertise in the Maldivian tax landscape, he specializes in tax compliance and advisory services for individuals and corporations. He began his career at the Department of Inland Revenue in 2002 and later joined the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority, focusing on tax appeals and objections. Mr. Mr. Hamdhulla is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives.

As a Deputy Manager (Tax Audit) at the Medium Taxpayer Audit division of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority, Mr. Abdulla Afhaam manages tax audits for medium-sized businesses to ensure adherence to tax laws and financial accuracy. Mr. Afhaam is a member of ACCA, an FCA, and hold an MBA as well as a BA in Accounting & Finance. Mr. Afhaam’s expertise lies in leading audit processes, identifying compliance gaps, and fostering transparency in financial reporting. Mr. Afhaam is committed to enhancing the efficiency of the tax system while supporting fair and accurate tax practices for the medium taxpayer segment.

Ms. Asma Ahmed is currently the Manager Custodian Services at Bank of Maldives PLC (BML). Prior to her current position, Ms. Asma served as a Financial Accountant at BML. She has 17 years of experience in Banking in various areas including Finance and Internal Audit. Ms. Asma served as the Vice-Chairperson of the Management and Finance Committee of CA Maldives from September 2022 to September 2024. Ms. Asma is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (ICAM) and a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). She holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) Finance from the University of Bedfordshire, UK.

Ms. Ibadha Ibrahim is the Head of Internal Audit at Allied Insurance Company of the Maldives. Since joining Allied, she has successfully established the Internal Audit function and led efforts toward the company’s ACCA employer affiliation. Her prior experience at MIRA from 2011 to 2020 in Objection and Enforcement, sharpened her skills in taxation and audit. She is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) from the Institute of Internal Auditors, and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (ACA).

Mr. Ahmed Salah is the Managing Partner and co-founder of QVL Advisory, having over 15 years of experience in tax and accounting industry. Previously, he served as the Director of Operations at Mile and Associates, a firm specializing in tax, accounting, and auditing services. His career also includes roles at the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority and the Ministry of Finance and Treasury. Additionally, Mr. Salah has contributed as a member of the Management and Finance Committee of the Institute. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives (FCA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK (FCCA). Mr. Salah also holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Kerala, India.

Mr. Thishan Dileesha Hapugoda is a Partner at Ernst & Young Maldives and has over 15 years of experience in audit and assurance related field and on the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs). Mr. Thishan has experience in serving many sectors in the Maldives including insurance, leisure, services and construction. Mr. Thishan contributed as a key resource person in various CPD events conducted by CA Maldives and EY Maldives. He is a Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, Fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives and a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Further, he holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting at University of Sri Jayewardenepura Sri Lanka.

Mr. Shamoon Adam is a highly experienced finance professional with over ten years in the Maldivian financial scene. He is a Fellow Member of CA Maldives since 2021 and has been with ACCA since 2018, holding respected credentials in the field. Mr. Shamoon is also a licensed auditor and tax agent, which adds to his expertise. Currently, he is the Chief Financial Officer at the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), a role he took on in May 2023, where he oversees financial operations. Before this, he was a Partner at M.H.P.A LLP, leading audits, financial consultations, and business development. He also gained valuable experience at NAMS Pvt Ltd, focusing on accounting systems and tax management, further enhancing his diverse skill set.

Mr. Basudev Behera is a Senior Manager at Deloitte, overseeing Internal Audit and Tax Division of the firm. He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Maldives (ICAM), and a qualified member of CIPFA-UK. With over 12 years of professional experience, Mr. Basudev excels in tax advisory, internal audit and financial management working across various sectors, including insurance, banking, and hospitality. He is currently pursuing a masters in economics, further expanding his expertise in financial analysis and policy.
