Management and Finance Committee
Mr. Rifaath Jaleel served as the chairperson of the Management and Finance Committee from 06th October 2020 to 20th April 2021. Mr. Rifaath led the works of the Management and Finance Committee to establish the procurement setups and policies.
Mr. Rifaath Jaleel is the Managing Partner of MHPA LLP, with close to 30 years of professional experience in accounting and auditing. He is a MIRA approved Auditor and currently a Director of CMDA.
He also sits on the Governments Tax Reform Committee, the Business Council and the Business Faculty Advisory Committee of the Maldives National University’s Business School. He has been the Chairman of the Maldives Finance Leasing Company for several years and provides consulting services to a number of high profile local and multinational companies. Mr. Rifaath Jaleel is also a member of the council.
Malik MohamedVice - Chairperson
Mr. Malik Mohamed served as a Council Member from 14th September 2020 to 3rd March 2021. He was also the Vice-Chair person of the Management and Finance Committee of the Institute during this period.
Mr. Malik started working in the tourism and hospitality industry in 2005 and his professional career spans over 15 years including overseas resort experience. In 2014, he was awarded CFO of the region and in 2016, he was awarded CFO of the continent. Mr. Malik also served as the Complex Director of Finance and Operations for W and Sheraton Maldives resorts.
Mr. Malik is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA)
Mr. Ahmed Salah served as a member of the Management and Finance Committee from 6th October 2020 to 20th April 2021. He is the Managing Partner of QVL Advisory. He has over 11 years of experience in Taxation and Accounting field. Prior to this, he was the Director of Operations of Mile and Associates, a firm that specializes in tax, accounting and auditing services.
Mr. Salah is familiar with the tax laws in the Maldives and has an extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
Mr. Salah is a Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
Mr. Mohamed Mihad served as a member of the Management and Finance Committee from 6th October 2020 to 25th April 2021. He was appointed as an Associate Partner of KPMG Maldives in December 2020. Prior to this, he was the Chief Financial Officer at State Trading Organization Plc (STO).
Mr. Mihad has over 10 years of experience as a finance professional and he is one of the youngest person to be appointed as a CFO in Maldives. He is the Board Director for Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Private Limited and Chairman for STO Maldives (Singapore) Pvt Ltd.
Mr. Mihad is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
Ms. Nishwa Firaq served as a member of the Management and Finance Committee from 6th October 2020 to 25th April 2021. Ms. Nishwa Firaq is the Director (Technical Services) at Auditor General’s Office. She has been actively working in the field for more than 20 years.
Ms. Nishwa holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).
Ms. Sudhuna Sulaiman served as a member of the Management and Finance Committee from 6th October 2020 to 25th April 2021. She is the Partner at A.I.X Associates. She has more than 10 years of experience in accounting and related fields.
Ms. Sudhuna is a Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
Technical and Standards Committee
Ahmed Hisham FawzyMember
Mr. Ahmed Hisham Fawzy served as the member of Technical and Standards Committee from 6th October 2020 to 7th July 2021. He is the Technical Partner at Ernst & Young (EY) Maldives. He has over 40 years of experience of assurance and related field. Mr. Hisham Fawzy is also a Member of the IFRS Desk of the Asia-Pacific Region.
Mr. Hisham Fawzy is a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka, Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), Fellow Member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Fellow Member of Institute for Management of Information Systems.
Adam Naseer IbrahimMember
Mr. Adam Naseer Hussain served as a member of the Academic Committee from 6th October 2021 to 10th September 2021. He led the Human Resources, Employee Training and Development, Stakeholder Relations, Finance, Administration and Operation as the Director Corporate Services, Head of Institute of Audit & Assurance and Finance Executive at the Auditor General’s Office.
Mr. Adam Naseer is a Certified Master Coach and a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programing and Timeline Therapy. He is also a part-time lecturer for MBA programs.
Mr. Adam Naseer holds a MSc. Educational Management & Leadership as well as Master of Business Administration (MBA).
