Management and Finance Committee

Mr. Rifaath Jaleel served as the chairperson of the Management and Finance Committee from 06th October 2020 to 20th April 2021. Mr. Rifaath led the works of the Management and Finance Committee to establish the procurement setups and policies.

Mr. Rifaath Jaleel is the Managing Partner of MHPA LLP, with close to 30 years of professional experience in accounting and auditing. He is a MIRA approved Auditor and currently a Director of CMDA. 

He also sits on the Governments Tax Reform Committee, the Business Council and the Business Faculty Advisory Committee of the Maldives National University’s Business School. He has been the Chairman of the Maldives Finance Leasing Company for several years and provides consulting services to a number of high profile local and multinational companies. Mr. Rifaath Jaleel is also a member of the council. 

Mr. Malik Mohamed served as a Council Member from 14th September 2020 to 3rd March 2021. He was also the Vice-Chair person of the Management and Finance Committee of the Institute during this period.

Mr. Malik started working in the tourism and hospitality industry in 2005 and his professional career spans over 15 years including overseas resort experience. In 2014, he was awarded CFO of the region and in 2016, he was awarded CFO of the continent. Mr. Malik also served as the Complex Director of Finance and Operations for W and Sheraton Maldives resorts.

Mr. Malik is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA)

Mr. Ahmed Salah served as a member of the Management and Finance Committee from 6th October 2020 to 20th April 2021. He is the Managing Partner of QVL Advisory. He has over 11 years of experience in Taxation and Accounting field. Prior to this, he was the Director of Operations of Mile and Associates, a firm that specializes in tax, accounting and auditing services.

Mr. Salah is familiar with the tax laws in the Maldives and has an extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.

Mr. Salah is a Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).

Mr. Mohamed Mihad served as a member of the Management and Finance Committee from 6th October 2020 to 25th April 2021. He was appointed as an Associate Partner of KPMG Maldives in December 2020. Prior to this, he was the Chief Financial Officer at State Trading Organization Plc (STO).

Mr. Mihad has over 10 years of experience as a finance professional and he is one of the youngest person to be appointed as a CFO in Maldives. He is the Board Director for Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company Private Limited and Chairman for STO Maldives (Singapore) Pvt Ltd.

Mr. Mihad is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Ms. Nishwa Firaq served as a member of the Management and Finance Committee from 6th October 2020 to 25th April 2021. Ms. Nishwa Firaq is the Director (Technical Services) at Auditor General’s Office. She has been actively working in the field for more than 20 years.

Ms. Nishwa holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).

Ms. Sudhuna Sulaiman served as a member of the Management and Finance Committee from 6th October 2020 to 25th April 2021. She is the Partner at A.I.X Associates. She has more than 10 years of experience in accounting and related fields.

Ms. Sudhuna is a Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Technical and Standards Committee

Mr. Ahmed Hisham Fawzy served as the member of Technical and Standards Committee from 6th October 2020 to 7th July 2021. He is the Technical Partner at Ernst & Young (EY) Maldives. He has over 40 years of experience of assurance and related field. Mr. Hisham Fawzy is also a Member of the IFRS Desk of the Asia-Pacific Region.

Mr. Hisham Fawzy is a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka, Fellow Member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), Fellow Member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and Fellow Member of Institute for Management of Information Systems.

Academic Committee

Ms. Fathimath Razeena served as a council member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Maldives since its inception till September 2022. She also served as a member of the Academic Committee of the Institute.

Ms. Fathimath Razeena served as the Financial Controller of Ministry of Finance from 2016 to 2022. She worked for the development of the Public Accounting System of Maldives since 2007 and actively engaged in developing the decentralized governments accounting system. 

She also served as a board member at 3 SOE’s in a period of 2008 to 2015. She is the Board Director at Maldives to SAARC Development Fund. She was also a member of the first National Pay Commission of Maldives and a member of the Steering Committee for the PFM project. 

Ms. Razeena holds a degree in Accounting & Finance and MBA. 

Mr. Adam Naseer Hussain served as a member of the Academic Committee from 6th October 2021 to 10th September 2021. He led the Human Resources, Employee Training and Development, Stakeholder Relations, Finance, Administration and Operation as the Director Corporate Services, Head of Institute of Audit & Assurance and Finance Executive at the Auditor General’s Office.

Mr. Adam Naseer is a Certified Master Coach and a Master Practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programing and Timeline Therapy. He is also a part-time lecturer for MBA programs.

Mr. Adam Naseer holds a MSc. Educational Management & Leadership as well as Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Ms. Hamida Shakeela served as a member of the Academic Committee from 6th October 2021 to 16th August 2022

Ms. Hamida Shakeela is the Executive Director of Banking Supervision and other Financial Institutions Division of Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA). She has been actively working in the Banking and Finance field for over 20 years.

Ms. Hamida holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA).

Admissions and Licencing Committee

Mr. Moosa Haleem served as a member of the Admission and Licencing Committee from 6th October 2021 to 10th November 2021.

Mr. Moosa Haleem was the Director General of Medium Taxpayer Audit Department at Maldives Inland Revenue Authority.

Mr. Moosa Haleem is a Chartered Certified Accountant.

Mr. Ibrahim Naeem served as a member of the Admissions and Licensing Committee from 6th October 2020 to 16th August 2022. Mr. Ibrahim Naeem was the Director of Public Sector Audits at the Auditor General’s Office.

He has extensive experience in the public sector auditing and has worked more than 20 years in the field. Apart from being a member of Admission and Licensing Committee at CA Maldives, Mr. Ibrahim Naeem is also a member of the state procurement policy board at the Auditor General’s Office and a Member of State Procurement Policy Board.

Mr. Ibrahim Naeem holds MSc in Financial Investments.

Appeal Committee

Mr. Mohamed Naseem is the Legal Counsel at Auditor General’s Office.

He holds a Master of Sharia (MS).
